Once upon a time I studied to become a lawyer. I loved writing and books, and I was a swot, so in the days of the 90s career library, this path made complete sense.
But in 2014 I realised that for many reasons it wasn't working for me. I needed to find a way to work flexibly and happily around my young family. I retrained in digital marketing and tentively started to put my writing online.
This was the start of my new career path, one where I used my writing skills to help businesses, and, in my spare time (hello late nights and early mornings!) wrote creatively. In 2018 I studied with the Faber Academy, where the idea sprang for my first novel.
So that's me. Copywriter by day, fiction writer at dawn, bookworm at dusk and in-between, a busy mama to children and animals. It turns out there was a lot more to life than the beige file in the careers library suggested.
Does your business or community project have a story behind it? I bet it does. And I'd love to help you tell it.
